Secrets From My Mother's Kitchen: Her Best Recipes (rajiv tiwari)

Everybody loves their mom's cooking recipes. They always seem like the best in the world and no other food recipes can beat it. When it seems like it's been ages since you've eaten your mom's cooking try out these recipes and enjoy!

Tomato Pot Pie Recipe:

Ingredients:
* 4 tablespoons of margarine that's been melted
* 2 small chopped onions
* 4 medium ripe tomatoes that are peeled and sliced
* 2 (9-inch) pre-baked pie shells
* 1 cup of mayonnaise
* ? cup of grated Parmesan cheese
* 4 teaspoons of garlic powder
* salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

1. Saut? onion in margarine until slightly transparent and arrange the tomato slices in the baked pie shells. Put the onions on top.

2. Mix mayonnaise, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in another bowl. Spread a slight layer of the mixture over the tomatoes and onions in the baked shells.

3. Bake at 325? for 30 minutes.

4. Enjoy the deliciousness of Mom's cooking recipes!

Chicken Pot Pie Recipe

Ingredients:

* 1 chicken
* 6 tablespoons of butter
* 4 peeled and chopped carrots
* 4 chopped celery ribs
* 8 ounces of thinly sliced fresh button mushrooms

* ? cup of all-purpose flour
* 1 box of frozen green peas
* 1 tablespoon of chopped fresh sage
* Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
* 1 egg
* 2 tablespoon of milk

Directions:

1. Boil the chicken in a large pot with enough water to submerge it. After boiling, reduce heat to low and simmer until meat is fully cooked.

2. Remove chicken from pot and reserve 5 cups cooking liquid. When chicken is cool enough to handle, pull off meat in large chunks for the potpie recipe and keep separately.

3. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Melt butter in a large pan over medium heat and add carrots, celery, and mushrooms. Saut? for about 10 minutes. Add flour and cook the flour is light brown

4. Slowly whisk in reserved cooking liquid and bring to a low boil while whisking. Add peas and sage.

5. Add the salt and pepper, reduce heat and simmer until thick. Keep stirring.

6. Add chicken, remove from heat and transfer mixture into a baking dish. Bake potpie until chicken mixture is bubbling around edges.

7. Serve immediately to taste the wonder of mom's cooking recipes.
