Toyomansi is my latest favourite sauce. It's a Filipino soy sauce with calamansi lime juice, a sourish soy with a citrus fragrance. I like it but having had fresh calamansi before, I have a suspicion some flavouring other than real calamansi is added but on the label flavouring is not listed. Toyomansi is available from most oriental supermarkets, quite cheap under £2 for a large bottle of 750ml.

Filipino Biko (Glutinous rice pudding)
I adore homemade English rice pudding with lots of ground nutmeg and a brown skin on top, but I hate rice pudding in a tin/can I can never touch that stuff.Biko is Filipino rice pudding using glutinous rice and coconut milk. Great stuff. I made this with my own tweaks adding nutmeg like how I love English rice pudding. Also I added a layer of lovely caramel on top. I love Biko as much as the

Sinigang Na Hipon - Filipino sour prawn soup
I reckon there is at least one sour soup recipe in every S E Asia country. I had Chinese hot and sour soup and Thai Tom Yum numerous times, tried the Vietnamese Cahn Chua not too long ago and last weekend I had the Filipino version of Prawn Sinigang which was very refreshing and tasty, not as herbal and fragrant as Thai or Vietnamese but is a keeper will try again with other combination.Sinigang
